Teach me Your way!

Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭25:4-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What a beautiful prayer to pray.! Especially during these times this prayer has such great importance. We live in a world where people are confused with right and wrong, freedom and bondage. Enemy has confused the minds of people. So there should be an honest prayer rising up these days to God Almighty asking for forgiveness from all our sin and wickedness and pray that God will graciously teach us His ways and lead us in His ways!”.

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Christian life is not easy. Because we are doing a walk of faith and not of sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). We all want to know the way we should walk. While we walk by faith in our God, He says through the scripture that He is willing to teach us His ways. And if we want to please God through this life by giving Him glory and honor in everything we do, we have to walk in His ways. We cannot choose our ways over Gods ways and claim that I am glorifying God and enjoying the freedom He gave me. We should realize that our ways are sinful and imperfect. And it leads to death and destruction. (Proverbs 14:12).

God knows all our ways Psalms 139:3. Nothing is hidden before Him. And when we reject God and His ways and choose to walk in our own ways we are choosing death.

God made His ways known to Moses and His deeds to Israelites. (Psalms 103:7). But they walked as if they didn’t even know the ways of God. Those who rebelled against God in wilderness perished without entering the promised land. God said about them like this, “Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.” Hebrews‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

God has His way with everything He created. And we His children who are abiding in Him should walk in the ways of God.

whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

God teaches us His ways.

Since God is good and upright He instruct even sinners His ways (Psalms 25:8). Otherwise what hope we all had.?.He chose us in our wretched condition, loved us and showed us His way- The way of Life!. And even after that He is promising us that He will continue to teach us His ways.( Isaiah 28:26; Psalms 32:8). For us to learn His ways we need to trust His Spirit (Psalms 143:10) and His word (Psalms 119:105). Also to all those who fear Him and honor Him (psalms 25:12), to the humble (Psalms 25:8,9) and to all those who acknowledge Him without leaning on to their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5,6), He will show His ways and leads them in the path of righteousness.

God’s ways are different from our ways.

  • They are higher than our ways Isaiah 55:9
  • His way is difficult and the gate is narrow
  • It leads to life and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:14
  • His ways are perfect. Psalms 18:30
  • His ways are righteous. Psalms 145:17
  • His ways are steadfast love and faithfulness, to those who keep His commandments and testimonies. Psalms 25:10
  • His ways are justice. Deuteronomy 32:4

Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them.”
‭‭Hosea‬ ‭14:9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

So these days let us look into our life and see which way we are walking. Pray that Holy Spirit will teach us His ways. Scripture says, Jesus Is the way. And we should know Him more and more each day and walk closer with Him. And with out the help of God we will never be able to understand His ways. When Holy Spirit enlightens us we will know The Way and we will walk in His Truth, which will lead to Life.

Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life!
